Eidos Montréal logo.

To align the Eidos Montréal brand with its future-facing creative direction, I led the redesign of their logo - modernising the existing symbol without sacrificing recognition. The original logo, while iconic, felt visually outdated and static. The challenge was to retain the core triangle motif while injecting more energy, clarity, and contemporary sensibility.

The new mark is built on the idea of shards - a direct reference to the powerful in-game item from Deus Ex, one of the studio’s most defining titles. These fragmented forms shaped a dynamic new silhouette, creating a logo that feels agile, sharp, and alive with momentum. It pushes forward visually, reflecting both the studio’s legacy and its drive for innovation.

The typography was completely rethought. The old font lacked cohesion with the symbol and didn’t reflect the brand’s technological edge. The updated wordmark features a more structured, geometric typeface, designed to sit harmoniously with the shard-based icon. The sharp corners, spacing, and letter shapes echo the angularity of the mark, giving the identity a clean, purposeful voice across applications.

The broader visual system was built around motion, fragmentation, and light - all themes embedded in Eidos Montréal’s game design ethos. From colour palettes and motion treatments to layout structure, the refreshed identity provides a flexible framework for future brand expressions.

A logo is never just a mark - it’s the distilled tension between identity and intention. I treat each one as a miniature system: built to adapt, communicate, and endure. Whether part of a wider design language or standing alone, these symbols are constructed with clarity, precision, and conceptual weight.

As a graphic designer, I’ve contributed to many identity systems, style guides, logo updates, and brand extensions - some seen, some quietly shaping how things work behind the scenes.
